Install NPM
Setup with Ubuntu:
curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_5.x | sudo -E bash -
Then install with Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install --yes nodejs
Increase Swap
The memory of my slice only has 512MB ram, so I ended up needing to increase the size of the swap in order for NPM to run correctly.
dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=1024 count=SIZE chmod 600 /swapfile mkswap /swapfile swapon /swapfile
